As Deputy Ward Manager you will support the Ward Manager by providing leadership, management of the ward, supervision and development of staff, and ensuring that care programmes are planned, implemented and evaluated to standard.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to cover a busy surgical/medical escalation ward.

We are seeking to recruit a deputy ward manager who can make a difference with their dedication and expertise whilst upholding the trust's values and behaviours. We are a friendly department with a positive ethos and strong nursing leadership.
As Deputy Ward Manager you will support the Ward Manager by providing management and leadership of the ward including administration and the overall co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting and auditing of standards of care to ensure excellent high quality care is delivered at all times. Applicants need to have a sound knowledge of clinical, leadership and managerial skills. Be able to demonstrate the ability to support with leadership as well as work within a team: to supervise, nurture and develop the knowledge and skills of staff.
All applicants must be a Registered Nurse, with recent experience at Band 5 and meet the Band 6 Job Description person specification. Experience in both pathways is essential for this Senior Nursing post holder.
Applicants will also be required to undertake Mentorship of Student Nurses and preceptorship of newly qualified nurses whilst assisting the ward sister in managing Samaritan Ward, and ensuring that the Fundamentals of Care are maintained to a high standard.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
