Job summary

Circle Health Group in Glasgow is seeking a Sister Charge Nurse on a 12-month fixed-term contract to lead ward teams and deliver high-quality care. The role is 36 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern at Ross Hall Hospital.

The successful candidate will have substantial post-registration experience, an NMC-registered Adult Nurse and a demonstrated ability to supervise staff, coordinate care and drive service improvements within a private healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
• Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant specialty.
• Experience in leading and supervising a team within a clinical environment.
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and coordination skills.
• Leadership or management training (or willingness to undertake).
• Experience in audit, service improvement, or quality assurance projects.
• Familiarity with private healthcare systems and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on clinical care, acting as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients.
• Coordinate daily clinical activity and ensure safe staffing levels, skill mix, and continuity of care.
• Promote high standards of nursing practice through supervision, coaching, and role modelling.
• Allocate and supervise staff during shifts, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and patient needs are met.
• Support the development, appraisal, and competency assessment of junior nurses, HCAs, and students.
• Contribute to the induction and ongoing development of new staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and policies.

Salary: Up to £43,650 FTE per year

(depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Sister Charge Nurse to join their team of staff in the Wards department.

This is a part-time role for 36 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Provide hands-on clinical care, acting as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients.
• Coordinate daily clinical activity and ensure safe staffing levels, skill mix, and continuity of care.
• Promote high standards of nursing practice through supervision, coaching, and role modelling.
