Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic nurse on our Coronary Care/Cardiology Ward at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a motivated cardiology nurse with significant cardiology experience for this Band 6 position.

Main Duties

1. Work with the senior nursing team to ensure effective visible leadership in the cardiology ward and Coronary Care Unit, maintaining excellent care standards for patients and families.
2. Possess excellent organization, communication, decision-making, and motivational skills; serve as a positive role model to staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Have significant experience caring for patients with cardiology conditions, including interpreting ECGs and managing acutely deteriorating patients, prioritizing patient care, and supporting the patient journey.
• Manage the ward on a shift basis and liaise with the wider cardiology team.
• Support the senior team in managing incidents, complaints, and maintaining safety standards.

Knowledge, Experience & Expertise (Essential)

• Experience as a band 5 nurse in an acute environment for 3 years or 2 years in cardiology
• Responsible for own post-basic education, meeting service and PREP requirements
• Experience in recruitment and selection
• Knowledge of future service provision

Knowledge, Experience & Expertise (Desirable)

• Cardiac experience
