Job summary

Mirus Aircraft Seating in Hingham, UK is seeking a Production Planning Manager to own the SIOP process and lead the interface between Sales, Engineering, Operations and Procurement. You will manage the master production schedule and material plans in Business Central, turning orders and forecasts into achievable, capacity-checked production plans.

You will chair planning meetings, monitor material availability, and make trade-offs to protect delivery dates.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a production planning department in a complex manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Line management experience including coaching and developing people.
• Excellent knowledge of production planning, MRP/MPS, materials supply and quality control principles.
• Hands-on experience of planning within an ERP/MRP system.
• Experience running or contributing significantly to an S&OP / SIOP process.
• A strong understanding of master data (items, BOMs, routings) and its impact on cost and plan accuracy.
• Ability to evaluate, develop, document and improve processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and data reporting proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mirus' SIOP process - coordinate monthly cycle, prepare reporting, drive consensus.
• Lead and develop a team of two Production Planners and a Master Data specialist.
• Own the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and communicate schedules across the business.
• Champion use of Business Central for planning, including MRP runs and release of production orders.
• Conduct capacity planning across work centres and identify bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Stores and suppliers to meet production plans.
• Ensure ERP master data accuracy (items, BOMs, routings, lead times, costing).
• Work with Engineering on changes and new product introductions in BC.
• Balance service, inventory, and efficiency; manage safety stock and reorder points.
• Provide planning input to programme reviews, quotations, and delivery commitments.
• Define and report planning KPIs (OTIF, turns, MRP exceptions).
• Develop and improve planning processes aligned with aerospace quality management.
