Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation is seeking a Systems Performance Modelling Engineer for a 12-month contract. Base site can be Stevenage or Bristol and the role is on-site with a possible four-day week.

The modeller will cover the seeker RF radar model including hardware, processing, and environment, delivering auto-code and performance predictions within the missile dynamics framework. The position requires Matlab/Simulink expertise, model-based design, and experience translating algorithms

Qualifications

Modelling for auto-coding is required.
Assessing suitability of algorithms in the model is essential.
Ability to convert an algorithm into a Simulink model is desirable.
Familiarity with Radar and Control Systems is beneficial.
Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing is advantageous.
RF experience is desirable.
Experience in C programming is a plus.
Technical report writing skills are needed.
Experience delivering models and documentation is required.

Responsibilities

Modelling in Matlab and Simulink using model-based design techniques.
Develop parts of a complex Seeker model including target scenario, hardware and processor algorithms.
Develop and implement algorithms within the model.
Produce and verify auto-code for software algorithms from the model.
Carry out seeker performance assessment.
Create a simpler representation of the model for use in the missile model.
Upgrade legacy Seeker models to newer MATLAB/Simulink versions.
Document model changes and create test vectors.
Role is predominantly onsite; some project-based flexibility may apply.
