ALTEN is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support a challenging Siemens NX engineering programme in the UK. The role focuses on developing detailed 3D designs and manufacturing drawings within a regulated environment, collaborating across engineering and production teams.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in mechanical design, strong Siemens NX skills, and a background in aerospace.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience within Mechanical Design, CAD Engineering or a similar role.
• Experience within the Aerospace Industry.
• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens NX – mandatory.
• Experience creating detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles.
• Experience working with mechanical components and assemblies.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify 3D mechanical designs using Siemens NX
• Produce accurate 2D engineering drawings to support manufacture and assembly
• Design mechanical components and assemblies in line with engineering requirements
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing and technical teams throughout the design lifecycle
• Review existing designs and implement engineering modifications where required
• Ensure designs meet relevant quality, manufacturing and technical standards
• Support design reviews and resolve technical issues during development
