ALTEN is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for its Oxford team to support aerospace and advanced manufacturing projects. You will design mechanical components, create 3D models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver designs from concept to production.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years CAD experience with Siemens NX, understanding GD&T and DFm, and a degree in Engineering. On-site with hybrid working options, this role offers mentoring and career development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a mechanical CAD design role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles.
• Experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical documentation.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D models and engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies
• Support product design and development activities from concept through to manufacture
• Update and modify existing designs in response to project requirements and engineering changes
• Collaborate with manufacturing, systems, and project engineering teams to ensure design suitability
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical problem-solving activities
• Ensure all design documentation is maintained in accordance with company standards
