Job summary

ALTEN is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for its Oxford team to support aerospace and advanced manufacturing projects. You will design mechanical components, create 3D models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver designs from concept to production.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years CAD experience with Siemens NX, understanding GD&T and DFm, and a degree in Engineering. On-site with hybrid working options, this role offers mentoring and career development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a mechanical CAD design role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles.
• Experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical documentation.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join our engineering team in Oxford to support our activities within the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sector.

You will support the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality design solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with at least one year of CAD design experience with siemens NX who is looking to further develop their skills within a collaborative and innovative environment.

• Location: Oxford
• On Site: Hybrid
• Experience Level: Junior to Mid - level (1-3 years of experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Exposure to aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing industries
• Knowledge of GD&T and Design for Manufacture (DfM)
• Experience working within a PLM-managed environment
• Familiarity with product lifecycle and change management processes
