Job summary

ALTEN LTD - UK is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Oxford to design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace and advanced manufacturing projects. The role targets engineers with 1–3 years of CAD design experience using Siemens NX and a drive to grow in a collaborative, innovative environment.

Located in Oxford with on-site hybrid work, the position supports cross-functional teams and includes design reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of mechanical CAD design experience.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles.
• Experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D models and drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Support product design and development from concept to manufacture.
• Update and modify existing designs in response to project needs and changes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, systems, and project engineering teams.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to problem solving.
• Maintain design documentation per company standards.
