Children's Hospice South West is seeking a friendly Sibling Support Worker to join the Charlton Farm team near Bristol. You will provide activities, play opportunities and emotional support for brothers and sisters of children receiving hospice care, while upholding confidentiality and working as part of a small, supportive team.

The role requires experience in a health or social care setting and a relevant play qualification (NNEB or equivalent).

Sibling Support Worker - Charlton Farm

Hours: 4 days (32 hrs) per week (rota is flexible to suit the service, to include weekdays, weekends and bank holidays - 9.30 – 5.30 Mon – Sat 9-5 Sun)

Salary: From £27,438 - £31,646 per annum pro rata (plus enhancements for weekend and bank holiday working)

Location: Wraxall, Bristol BS48

About Us

Children's Hospice South West are an established and successful charity providing hospice care for children with life limiting conditions and their families in the South West of England. We aim to recruit passionate, friendly and enthusiastic staff who are motivated to really make a difference to the lives of the children and families who visit us.

What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic person to join our sibling team at Charlton Farm, at the edge of Bristol. You will have a sensitive hands-on approach to help meet the specific needs of the brothers and sisters staying with us, by providing activities and opportunities for play, as well as emotional support and bereavement care when needed. Our sibling team focus specifically on ensuring the brothers and sisters stay is a positive and happy experience. Applicants should have experience of working within a health or social care setting and relevant NNEB play qualification, or equivalent, as well as a thorough understanding of the need for confidentiality, and the ability work independently and as part of a team.

We provide respite, palliative and bereavement care for children with life-limiting conditions on a one-to-one basis. Having the time to build relationships with children and their families whilst they are at the hospice and between visits helps to make our roles incredibly fulfilling.
