Job summary

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to help keep Charlton Farm hospice running smoothly and calmly. You’ll lead a small team, plan cleaning schedules, manage rotas and ensure high cleanliness and infection-control standards.

The role includes coordinating with care, catering and facilities teams to create a warm, home-from-home environment for families, with weekends and bank holidays required as part of a 37-hour week.

Qualifications

  • Experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles, including supervising a team.
  • Strong eye for detail and commitment to high standards.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and cleaning best practice.
  • Confidence in leading, motivating and developing others.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support a small team of staff and volunteers to deliver exceptional standards.
  • Plan and oversee high-quality cleaning schedules across the hospice.
  • Manage rotas, performance, and day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure outstanding standards of cleanliness, safety and infection control.
  • Oversee stock, equipment and housekeeping systems.
  • Collaborate with care, catering and facilities teams to create a seamless experience for families.
  • Create a home-from-home atmosphere in patient and family areas.

£26,414 to £27,808 per annum plus an additional £6.75 per hour for weekend and bank holiday shifts.

About The Role

As Housekeeping Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of keeping the hospice running smoothly

You’ll
