Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Shunter to join a full-time, permanent team on a 4 on 4 off shift, covering 16:00 to 04:00. Some day shifts (04:00–16:00) may be required to meet business needs.

You will safely manoeuvre trailers, position them for loading, and perform daily vehicle checks. Benefits include annual salary £36,972.24 plus a night-shift uplift, holiday pay, pension, and access to GXO University training.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Valid Driver CPC and tachograph cards required.
• No more than six penalty points on licence.
• Shunting experience is desirable; training available.

Responsibilities

• Safely manoeuvre trailers and vehicles around the yard with a shunter.
• Position trailers onto bays in readiness for loading/unloading.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Collaborate with warehouse, transport and site teams to follow health and safety procedures.
