Job summary

Sasse AG is hiring a General Service Operative (Shunter/Fueller/Cleaner) at Southport Bus Depot. The role involves shunting, fuelling, and cleaning to ensure fleet operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (B category) held for at least 2 years.
• Willingness and ability to work unsocial hours on a late shift.
• Ability to process and manoeuvre vehicles within depot and maintain cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Process vehicles on return to the depot.
• Move and park vehicles/buses within the depot as directed.
• Maintain overall cleanliness of buses and facilities; manage waste removal.
• Perform fuelling tasks when required.
• Conduct pre-entry visual checks for damage and report issues.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and site instructions.
• Take on additional General Service Operative duties as needed.
• Deliver timely, efficient, and courteous service on customer sites.

We are currently recruiting for a Full-time GSO Shunter/Cleaner/Fueller at Southport Bus Depot for Arriva, and we are looking to hear from candidates who are positive, have a can-do attitude and have ambition to grow.

The Role

As a General Service Operative (Shunter/Cleaner/Fueller), you will play an essential role in ensuring our fleet operates smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Process the vehicles on their return to the depot.
• Moving and manoeuvre vehicles/ buses within the depot, following instructions from the allocator and parking according to the parking plan.
• Maintaining overall cleanliness, including bus and facility cleaning, waste removal.
• Performing fuelling tasks.
• Conducting visual checks for any damage, reporting issues, and ensuring all windows are closed before buses enter the wash.
• Follow strict Health & Safety procedures and instructions.
• The role will also have additional site duties in line with General Service Operative (GSO)
• Delivering timely, efficient, and courteous service on customer sites.
• Willingness and ability to work unsocial hours in line with the late shift.
• Full UK car (B category) driving licence, held for a minimum of 2 years
