Sasse is recruiting for a Full-time General Service Operative (Shunter/Cleaner/Fueller) at the Speke Arriva Bus Depot. The role focuses on vehicle movement, cleaning, fuelling, and safety checks to keep the fleet operating smoothly.

Qualifications

• Full UK car (B category) driving licence held for 2+ years.
• No formal qualifications required.

Responsibilities

• Process the vehicles on their return to the depot.
• Move and manoeuvre vehicles within the depot following allocator instructions and parking plan.
• Maintain overall cleanliness of buses and facilities, including waste removal.
• Perform fuelling tasks as required.
• Conduct visual checks for damage and report issues; ensure windows are closed before wash.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times and perform site duties as needed.
• Deliver timely, courteous service on customer sites.
• Be willing and able to work unsocial hours on late shift.

The Role

As a General Service Operative (Shunter/Cleaner/Fueller), you will play an essential role in ensuring our fleet operates smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Process the vehicles on their return to the depot.
• Moving and manoeuvre vehicles/ buses within the depot, following instructions from the allocator and parking according to the parking plan.
• Maintaining overall cleanliness, including bus and facility cleaning, waste removal.
• Performing fuelling tasks.
• Conducting visual checks for any damage, reporting issues, and ensuring all windows are closed before buses enter the wash.
• Follow strict Health & Safety procedures and instructions.
• The role will also have additional site duties in line with General Service Operative (GSO)
• Delivering timely, efficient, and courteous service on customer sites.
• Willingness and ability to work unsocial hours in line with the late shift.
• Driver’s Licence. Full UK car (B category) driving licence, held for a minimum of 2 years
