Job summary

Fairfax Meadow at the Derby site, part of Sysco GB, is hiring a Yard Shunter to support daily loading operations and keep deliveries moving smoothly.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will manage a small fleet of 7 artics and trailers and 5 rigid vehicles, ensuring safety, accuracy and timely departures.

The role requires Class 1 driving experience, CPC cards, and a commitment to teamwork and food hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driver with valid CPC cards.
• Experience with MHE such as pump trucks.
• Strong teamwork and attention to safety and accuracy.
• Ability to work 12:00–22:00, Sunday to Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily loading operations and manage a small fleet of 7 artics and trailers and 5 rigids.
• Maintain food hygiene standards and safety records.
• Collaborate with warehouse team to ensure timely departures.

Salary: Up to £40,482 per annum (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: 12 noon to 22:00, Sunday - Thursday

A satisfying role

Reporting to the Transport Manager this role is key to efficient operation of the daily loading process. Working at the heart of our business, you will be responsible for ensuring our operation runs as efficiently and timely as possible and managing a small fleet of 7 artics and trailers and 5 rigids working closely with the warehouse team.

You will need to maintain food hygiene standards, minimise any damages and meet the highest standards of health and safety. Keeping accurate records and resolving on-site issues. You’ll enjoy a varied role and all the support and training you need.

What you bring to the mix

Experience as a Class 1 driver with valid CPC cards.

A passion for providing the highest operational standards.

A love of working in a team.

Experience of using MHE such as pump trucks.
