Job summary

ABM UK is seeking a Cleaning Operative for Eastgate Shopping Centre in the United Kingdom. The role covers maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors, retailers and colleagues. Training will be provided and a supportive team environment is offered.

The position requires working a 5 days on/2 days off shift pattern, 40 hours per week, with a pay rate of £13.41 per hour. Benefits include healthcare, mental health support, and a cycle-to-work scheme.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the shopping centre
• Clean and sanitise lifts, including stainless steel surfaces, lift doors, frames, runners, and mirrors
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floor surfaces throughout public and back‑of‑house areas
• Clean and sanitise washrooms and staff facilities, replenishing consumables as required
• Empty waste bins and manage waste disposal in accordance with site procedures
• Set up, maintain, and safely store cleaning equipment and materials
• Monitor assigned areas and proactively address cleaning requirements
• Respond promptly to spillages and other reactive cleaning tasks
• Support Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure service excellence is consistently delivered
• Complete all required training and comply with Health & Safety procedures and company policies
