Job summary

ABM is seeking a Cleaning Operative to join the team at Eastgate Shopping Centre. You will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for visitors and staff, delivering planned and reactive cleaning services with a proactive customer-focused approach.

Role involves lift cleaning, floor care, washroom sanitising, waste handling, and training in health and safety. Training provided; shift pattern is 5 days on, 2 days off, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential; full training provided.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards of presentation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
• Positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible in approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the shopping centre.
• Clean and sanitise lifts and stainless steel surfaces, doors and mirrors.
• Sweep, mop and maintain floor surfaces in public and back-of-house areas.
• Clean and sanitise washrooms and staff facilities, replenish consumables.
• Empty waste bins and manage waste disposal per site procedures.
• Set up, maintain and safely store cleaning equipment and materials.
• Monitor areas and proactively address cleaning needs.
• Respond promptly to spillages and reactive cleaning tasks.
• Support Team Leaders to ensure service excellence is delivered.
