Job summary

Wenzel's The Bakers is seeking an experienced Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of the shop, drive sales, control costs, and lead a hands-on team. You will manage stock, deliveries, hygiene standards, and customer service while achieving KPIs and maintaining a welcoming store environment.

The role offers a full-time schedule with a 42-hour week and flexible hours such as 9:00–15:00 to accommodate needs; part-time pro-rata also considered.

Qualifications

• An experienced retail manager to oversee the daily operations of the shop.
• Ability to drive sales while controlling costs.
• Strong leadership: train and motivate a team with a hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Successfully managing and controlling the day to day running of your own shop.
• Managing the growth of the business through increasing sales, controlling costs and delivering profit
• Working towards KPIs including wage percentage, average sale, stock, wastage and energy targets
• Leading, training and developing your team to a high level
• Performance managing your team as required
• Ensure the sandwich and food production standards are at the required high level
• Ensure the shop is clean, organised and welcoming for customers
• Maintaining the highest levels of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards
• Ensure the highest levels of customer service within the shop
• The recruitment of new team members within your shop when required
• Receiving and checking daily deliveries
• The management of the shop's stock and produce.
• Maintaining the shop displays.
• Having excellent knowledge and understanding of the products.
• Cash handling, till operation and banking.
• Opening or closing the shop when required.
