Job summary

Keech Hospice in Hitchin seeks a Shop Manager to lead a charity retail team, delivering strong sales while serving the community. The role requires flexibility, including weekend rotas, and carries a starting salary from £28,433 with potential to progress to £30,619.

You will work closely with the Area Manager, engage volunteers, attend head office meetings, and ensure accurate till readings and banking. A rewarding role in a supportive environment.

40 hours per week

Starting salary £28,433 per annum with room to develop and progress through the pay grade banding up to £30,619 per annum.

This role requires you to be fully flexible, including weekends on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and drive team to achieving sales and profit targets.
• Work closely with Area Manager ensuring the store is running smoothly
• Build relationships with volunteers to ensure they are engaged and involved in Keech events
• Attend managers meetings in Keech Head Office
• Handling till readings, balancing and banking
• Hands on approach, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction is maintained by all staff.
• Implement and maintain systems in line with Keech Hospice policies and procedures.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong management/leadership experience are essential
• Previous experience in similar retail role or an interest in working within the charity sector.
• Excellent communication skills, strong team spirit, confidently being able to support a diverse team
