Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics is seeking a Shipping Supervisor based in Aberdeen. The role oversees daily shipping operations, ensuring timely and compliant movement of goods while leading a distribution team.

The successful candidate will drive efficiency, maintain safety standards, and coordinate with internal departments, carriers and clients. A strong background in logistics, leadership, and IMDG certifications is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Current IMDG Dangerous Goods by Sea/Road certification required.
• Current IMDG Radioactive by Sea/Road certification required.
• Computer literacy is essential for documentation and reporting.
• Experience in a comparable Supervisor role is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Supervise, train, and manage the shipping team to optimize productivity and maintain adherence to company policies.
• Coordinate daily shipping schedules, including dispatching, receiving, and transportation of goods.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate documentation for all shipped or received items.
• Communicate with internal departments, carriers, and clients to resolve shipping issues efficiently.
• Maintain and analyze shipping performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure all shipping is completed in accordance with applicable legislation including supervising all dangerous goods & radioactive shipments.
• Participate in budget planning and cost control for shipping operations.
• Responsible for ensuring that customer and company deliverables are met.
• Being the focal point for the co-ordination of day-to-day interface between Mechanical, Inspection, Scaffolding and Operations to ensure client needs are met.
• Lead a team responsible for the Preparing, Packaging and Containerization of Plant Equipment & Consumables to Client work sites and offshore locations.
• Planning & Delegation of work scopes including liaising closely with all Base Facility departments to ensure shipping deadlines are met.
• Assist in the co-ordination of all transportation and logistics including container stock allocation.
• Participate in International Shipments & ensuring custom compliance checks are completed.
• Ensuring the compilation & filing of Document work packs are completed by team.
