Job summary

Response Personnel Ltd in Luton is recruiting a Shipping & Logistics Coordinator for a fully office-based, temporary role with potential to go permanent. You will coordinate customer shipments, liaise with freight forwarders, plan and expedite orders, and prepare export documentation.

The role requires hands-on, organised, customer-focused individuals with experience in EXW and international shipping processes, strong Excel and SAP skills, and a meticulous approach to compliance and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in shipping, logistics, exports or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of EXW and international shipping processes.
• Experience with freight forwarders and export documentation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• SAP experience would be desirable, training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate customer shipments, including EXW collections.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding shipping arrangements.
• Liaise with freight forwarders and obtain competitive freight quotations.
• Work closely with Planning and Operations to ensure customer orders are shipped on time.
• Prepare shipping and export documentation, including Certificates of Origin, ATRs, Commercial invoices, Certificates of Conformance, and test certificates.
• Support import/export and customs documentation, including SAD documentation.
• Process customer shipments through relevant shipping portals.
• Liaise with the Credit team regarding Letters of Credit.
• Participate in Health & Safety and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure shipping activities are completed accurately and in line with company procedures and customer requirements.

Shipping & Logistics Coordinator

Working Pattern: Fully office-based
Contract: Temporary - With opportunity to go permanent
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
Hours: 8:30am - 5pm
Rate: 15 per hour

We are currently looking for a Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Luton. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced shipping or logistics professional to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment and play a key role in ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.

Please note: this is a fully office-based position in Luton, with no working from home option.

The Role

As Shipping & Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating customer shipments, working closely with customers, freight forwarders, Planning, Operations and internal support teams to ensure the smooth and timely movement of goods.

About You

• Previous experience in shipping, logistics, exports or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of EXW and international shipping processes.
• Experience working with freight forwarders and preparing export documentation.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Previous SAP experience would be desirable, although full SAP training can be provided.
