Job summary

Carlsberg Leeds is seeking a Shift Team Leader to drive production performance with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and continuous improvement. You will lead a manufacturing team of 10–15 employees, coordinating resources to meet the production plan and KPI targets.

Applicants should demonstrate proven leadership in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of Health & Safety, GMP and operational excellence, and the ability to manage 12-hour shifts on a rotating pattern.

  • Identify and resolve operational issues and support Continuous Improvement.
  • Manage team performance, attendance, training and development.

Working hours/shift pattern: 12 hrs shift, 6 am - 6 pm and 6 pm - 6 am, Days and Nights, 4-Week Shift Pattern

About the Role:

As a Shift Team Leader at our Leeds facility, you will be responsible for leading manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, quality, and performance excellence. This pivotal role requires exceptional leadership skills to inspire and develop teams while ensuring customer satisfaction and company compliance in a safe environment. You will be the driving force behind operational excellence, promoting professional behaviours and embodying Carlsberg Britvic Growth Culture Principals.

Role Responsibilities:

Lead, motivate and develop a production team of approximately 10–15 employees.
Demonstrate strong safety leadership, ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental and PPE standards are consistently met.
Ensure Quality and GMP standards are maintained, promoting a Right First Time approach.
Plan and coordinate resources to deliver the production plan and achieve key operational KPIs, including OEE, reliability, yield and waste.
Identify and resolve operational issues, promoting a “see it, own it, solve it” approach and supporting Continuous Improvement.
Manage team performance, attendance, training and development, including regular 1:1s and clear objectives.
Work closely with Engineering, Quality and other support teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, manage costs and improve operational efficiency.

Experience and Key Attributes

Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety, Quality and Operational Excellence.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues in a fast-paced production environment.
Experience in performance management, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals and developing talent.
Ability to work a 12-hour, 24/6 annualised shift pattern as required by the business.
Commitment to continuous improvement and development, both personally and across the team.
