Job summary

Ardagh Group in Irvine, Scotland, is seeking a shift supervisor to lead a crew, optimise pack efficiency, and ensure quality on the cold end. The role offers development through internal and external training programmes to support performance and career progression.

Responsibilities include directing resources, maintaining safety, and driving continuous improvements while coordinating with plant management across shifts.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the whole glass container inspection and packing processes.
• Understanding of glass container terminology and fault awareness.
• A good understanding of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Tools and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Responsible for all out of hours emergency procedures to maintain health and safety on site.

Job description

To control and direct people and resources to optimise long and short-term shift performances at the cold end; especially efficiency and quality.

This role has the opportunity for leadership development, including internal training and externally accredited programmes to support your performance and career progression.

• Normal shift pattern is determined by the 5-crew shift rota, however, typically consists of a two 12-hour day shifts followed by two 12-hour night shifts and then a six-day rest period, which includes 21 shifts holiday which are built into the shift 5 crew rota.
