Job summary

Ardagh Metal Packaging is seeking a dedicated operator to pack glass manually and ensure lines run at full capacity. You will be responsible for fault finding, operating on a 12-hour days/nights rota, and maintaining quality checks on coated ware before transport to customers.

Role offers a salary range of £34,000 to £36,555, a pension with up to 10% matched contributions, private healthcare, and development opportunities within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to pack glass manually.
• Basic mechanical fault diagnosis possible – utilitarian repairs.
• Mechanical knowledge/experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Health and Safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment and keep area tidy.
• Ensure each line is run to full capacity with supplied materials.
• Troubleshoot and fault-find within SOPs to meet customer packing specifications.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Comply with Company Health and Safety Procedures in order to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you. Carry out housekeeping as required in accordance with Company Hygiene Rules.
• All lines supplied with materials (naked glass and packaging etc.) ensuring each line is run to its full capacity.
• Responsible for problem solving and fault finding within the standard operating procedures. Ensure customer’s packing specifications are achieved
• Removal of cullet and contaminated materials to the correct location on site. To operate a palletiser or to drive a forklift truck
• Taking ownership that all decorated ware is packed fit for transport to our customers, responsible for checking all cold end equipment (squeeze testers and coating sprays etc.)
• All checks documented and recorded by operator, viewing of ware on the production line and de-brief all team members at shift change overs.

Required skills / qualifications:

• Ability to pack glass manually in event of equipment failure
• Basic mechanical malfunctions
• Although not essential any mechanical knowledge/experience would be advantageous

• Salary based on Grade 4. Salary min £34,000 - £36,555 max.
