Job summary

Lancashire Renewables Ltd is seeking a Shift Support Operative to join the Operations and Maintenance team at our Thornton facility on a 5-shift pattern. You will provide flexible support across operational functions to ensure continuous, safe delivery of services while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Key duties include weighbridge operations, coordination of site access for contractors, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience in site operations and ability to follow safety/environmental policies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with drivers, contractors and internal teams.
• Good organisational and records-keeping abilities, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate the weighbridge and record waste movements accurately.
• Coordinate vehicle arrivals, inductions, and site access for contractors and visitors.
• Act as point of contact for site enquiries and support daily operations.
• Maintain operational records including waste transfer documents and downtime logs.
• Support safety and security by following procedures and assisting with emergencies.
• Provide general site support including housekeeping and cleaning duties.
