Job summary

MIU Consulting in Coventry is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead the night shift on a 3 on 3 off basis within a fast-paced production and distribution environment. You will motivate diverse teams to achieve operational excellence and maintain shift performance metrics.

The role demands hands-on leadership, mentorship, and a proven track record in KPI delivery, with responsibility for health and safety and continuous improvement on the shift.

Qualifications

• Experience running a shift in a fast-paced production or distribution environment.
• Comfortable working on a night shift, 3 on 3 off.
• Strong manager of people with mentoring and coaching style and a track record in managing KPIs.
• Able to report on shift performance.
• Take ownership of Health & Safety and continuous improvement on the shift.

Responsibilities

• Full accountability for site operations on the shift in a high-speed production / distribution environment.
• Lead and develop a team of operators to ensure that shift objectives are hit and that CI initiatives are delivered on.
• Monitor stock flow and inventory accuracy across the shift.
• Work closely with customers and suppliers.
• Maintain performance tracking to ensure the shift is delivering required production efficiencies.
• Coordinate personnel to ensure the shift can operate at capacity, including agency staff as needed.
• Deal with all people management, mentoring and development on the shift.

Overview:

This multi-site, international FMCG business are looking for a Shift Supervisor to lead operational activities across their Coventry operation on the night shift on a 3 on 3 off basis.

The role will suit a supervisor who is very much hands on and is able to motivate diverse teams to deliver consistent operational and performance excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Full accountability for site operations on the shift in a high-speed production / distribution environment.

* Lead and develop a team of operators to ensure that shift objectives are hit and that operational and continuous improvement initiatives are delivered on.

* Monitor stock flow and inventory accuracy across the shift.

* Work closely with customers and suppliers.

* Maintain performance tracking to ensure that the shift is delivering the required numbers in terms of production efficiencies.

* Coordinate personnel to ensure that the shift is able to work at capacity at all times. This may include the deployment of agency staff at short notice.

* Deal with all people management, mentoring and development matters on the shift.

Person Specification:

* Previous experience running a shift in a fast-paced production or distribution environment.

* Must be comfortable working on a night shift, 3 on 3 off basis.

* A strong but engaging manager of people with a mentoring and coaching style and a track record in managing key performance indicators.

* Comfortable working at pace and making decisions independently.

* A really effective communicator who is organised, thorough and able to report professionally on shift performance.

* Able to take ownership of site Health & Safety and continuous improvement on the shift
