Job summary

JMC Aviation is seeking a Base Shift Supervisor at Glasgow Prestwick Airport to lead the shift and carry certification on the zones/areas of the aircraft assigned to the shift.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will allocate work, monitor staff performance, report defects, maintain accurate maintenance records, and ensure accurate time tracking for man-hours worked.

Qualifications

• UKCAA Part 66 Licence with current eligibility.
• Experience with at least two of A320, A330, B737 or B787 type ratings.
• Understanding of airworthiness regulation, MOE, MEL and related data.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently control, supervise, and allocate work tasks during the shift to ensure productivity and timelines.
• Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for development.
• Report defects promptly and compile occurrence reports.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities for audits.
• Ensure accurate time tracking for man-hours worked during the shift.

About The Role

Reporting to the shift Manager, the Base Shift Supervisor will lead the shift, carry certification on the zones/Area of the aircraft assigned to the Shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently control, supervise, and allocate work tasks during the shift to ensure optimal productivity and adherence to timelines.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance regularly to provide constructive feedback and support professional development.
• Report significant defects encountered during maintenance promptly and compile Occurrence Reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities and issues for future reference and audits.
• Ensure accurate time tracking for ‘man-hours’ worked for self and team during the shift period

Candidate Requirements

• UKCAA Part 66 Licence, recent on at least 2 of the following type ratings: A320, A330, B737 and B787
• Ideally hold a C license
• A minimum of 5 years hands‑on experience of certifying Aircraft with an UKCAA part 66 licence and appropriate company authorisation
• Management experience within the aviation industry preferably managing other Licensed Engineers
• Technical experience in aviation and able to demonstrate knowledge of airworthiness regulation, MOE, MEL and its use, SRM understanding and the limits of technical data and the impact of that.
• Have a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning.
