Job summary

JMC Aviation Limited is seeking a Shift Supervisor for Prestwick. You will lead the shift, ensure certification on assigned aircraft zones, and drive timely maintenance activities on a 5/54 day shift (7am–7pm).

Responsibilities include supervising tasks, evaluating staff performance, reporting defects, and maintaining detailed maintenance records to support audits and compliance. Prior experience in aviation maintenance leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• UKCAA Part 66 Licence required; type ratings on at least two: A320, A330, B737, B787.
• Ideally hold a C licence.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on aircraft certification with UKCAA Part 66 and suitable authorisation.
• Management experience within aviation, preferably supervising licensed engineers.
• Knowledge of airworthiness regulation, MOE, MEL and SRM concepts.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently control, supervise, and allocate work tasks during the shift to ensure productivity and timelines.
• Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for development.
• Report defects and generate Occurrence Reports promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities for audits.
• Ensure accurate time tracking for man-hours during the shift.

About the Role

Reporting to the shift Manager, the Base Shift Supervisor will lead the shift, carry certification on the zones/Area of the aircraft assigned to the Shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently control, supervise, and allocate work tasks during the shift to ensure optimal productivity and adherence to timelines.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance regularly to provide constructive feedback and support professional development.
• Report significant defects encountered during maintenance promptly and compile Occurrence Reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities and issues for future reference and audits.
• Ensure accurate time tracking for ‘man-hours’ worked for self and team during the shift period

Candidate Requirements

• UKCAA Part 66 Licence, recent on at least 2 of the following type ratings: A320, A330, B737 and B787
• Ideally hold a C license
• A minimum of 5 years hands‑on experience of certifying Aircraft with an UKCAA part 66 licence and appropriate company authorisation
• Management experience within the aviation industry preferably managing other Licensed Engineers
• Technical experience in aviation and able to demonstrate knowledge of airworthiness regulation, MOE, MEL and its use, SRM understanding and the limits of technical data and the impact of that.
• Have a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning.
