Job summary

Arriva is seeking a PSV Mechanic to service and repair buses including electric models. You will diagnose faults, perform routine maintenance, and prepare vehicles for MOTs in a busy workshop environment.

Ideal candidates have PSV/HGV experience, City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance and a full UK driving licence. Expect shift work across mornings, afternoons and some evenings with great travel perks.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• PSV/HGV mechanical experience in bus/coach environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Full UK Driving Licence (PCV licence, Cat D desirable).

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and safety inspections on buses.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and air system faults.
• Repair engines, brakes, steering, suspension and other components.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Work closely with the workshop team.
• Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs as needed.
• Keep the workshop clean and organized.
• Manage and order parts when required.

£26.35 per hour (£54,808 per year)
Full-time | 5 out of 7 shift rota - (mornings, afternoons & late shifts)

What you’ll do:

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and safety inspections on buses
