Job summary

Arriva Midlands Limited is seeking an experienced PSV Mechanic to service, maintain and repair PSV vehicles, diagnose faults, and prepare vehicles for MOT. The role includes shift work on a 5 out of 7 rota, evenings and weekends, with ongoing training including EV upskilling and PCV licence support.

PSV Mechanic £26.35 per hour Full-time | 5 out of 7 shift rota (mornings, afternoons & late shifts)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Servicing, maintenance, and repair of PSV vehicles
  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding and diagnostics
  • MOT preparation and preventative maintenance inspections
  • Vehicle safety inspections and quality control checks
  • Roadside breakdown response and reactive repairs

  • Working collaboratively within a skilled engineering team
  • Shift work including earlies, lates, and weekends (5 days out of 7)
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a PSV/HGV mechanic or engineer (automotive, heavy vehicle, or rail considered)
  • Level 3 qualification in Vehicle or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving license (PCV/HGV desirable, but not essential)
  • Electrical systems knowledge (desirable but not essential)
  • Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern, including evenings and weekends
