Ibstock Plc is recruiting a Production Shift Manager for its Chesterton factory in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, on a 12 month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on leading manufacturing teams, delivering continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

You will drive performance, manage people, and implement production plans while collaborating across departments to meet business targets.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in a continuous manufacturing environment at the level advertised or above.
• Strong self-motivation and ability to self-manage.
• Ability to meet targets and deadlines and adapt to changing needs.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills with system implementation.
• Leadership and people management to develop and improve the team.
• Proven ability to apply structured problem-solving techniques.
• Strong cross-department communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and promote plans across company, factory and teams and ensure implementation to achieve objectives.
• Motivate and develop the team through performance reviews to deliver objectives.
• Apply 5S and Lean practices to deliver continuous improvement across manufacturing areas.
• Adhere to health, safety, environmental and quality procedures; ensure compliance.
• Analyse production data to hit key targets and drive improvement.
• Develop systems and standards for housekeeping to world-class levels using 5S.
• Procure production materials within defined areas of the production environment.
• Liaise across departments to achieve defined objectives.
