Job summary

Treatt in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, invites applications for a Shift Lead - nights on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will supervise the night shift, ensure a safe, efficient operation and support the Production Manager with daily planning to meet targets.

The role requires proven leadership, experience with GMP/BRC, lean thinking and ability to generate accurate reports. You’ll lead toolbox talks, manage inventory and drive continuous improvement while maintaining housekeeping and safety

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience.
• An understanding of BRC and Customer Quality Standards.
• Knowledge of working within a LEAN environment.
• Competent in computer operation and producing reports, using email and data entry (including JDE).
• Proven production experience delivering a production plan.

Responsibilities

• Operate in line with Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
• Report daily production progress and delays to the Production Manager.
• Advise on manning levels and scheduling of production tasks.
• Lead a right-first-time policy to meet orders on time and within specification.
• Maintain stock movement accuracy and inventory control.
• Ensure 100% plan vs actual and full operator utilization.
• Oversee distillation processes and Control Panel Operator activities.
• Prepare workloads for operators and maximise labour utilization.
• Lead toolbox talks and 5S housekeeping within the department.
• Coordinate safe start-up/shutdown of equipment and maintain safety culture.
• Support lean culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain GMP & BRC compliance.
