The role requires hands-on control room and shop-floor experience, working with DCS/HMI/SCADA systems, and mentoring a small team. You will drive SOP improvements, maintain logs, and coordinate maintenance and process

Qualifications

• HNC, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
• Strong knowledge of HMI, SCADA, and DCS systems
• Operational experience in power generation, steam raising, or mechanical process environments
• Experience in both control room and shop-floor environments
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• A flexible, team-oriented working attitude
• Basic IT skills for reporting and documentation
• Practical mechanical skills for minor adjustments and repairs

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor turbines, boilers, pumps, and water systems on a DCS.
• Maintain HSE compliance and follow company policies.
• Conduct daily plant walkdowns and inspections.
• Provide supervision to shift staff and coordinate maintenance.
• Support and coordinate minor reactive maintenance as needed.
• Maintain shift logs and performance records.
• Mentor and develop shift team members.
• Provide cover for other Shift Team Leaders when needed.
