Job summary

Lancashire Renewables Ltd is seeking a Shift Support Operative to join the Operations and Maintenance team at the Thornton facility on a 5-shift system. You will provide essential, flexible support across operational functions, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient site activities.

Key duties include supporting health, safety and environmental compliance, assisting with waste processing and SCADA monitoring, recording downtime, weighbridge tasks and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills including use of radio communications.
• PC and IT literate.
• Good organisational abilities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate the weighbridge, accurately recording vehicle movements and waste transactions entering and leaving the site.
• Coordinate vehicle arrivals, product deliveries, driver inductions and site access for contractors, hauliers and visitors.
• Act as a key point of contact for site enquiries, liaising with operational teams and external stakeholders to support smooth daily operations.
• Maintain accurate operational records, including waste transfer documentation and system downtime logs.
• Support site safety and security by following procedures, reporting hazards and assisting with emergency response activities when required.
• Provide general operational support, including housekeeping and cleaning duties, to help maintain a safe, compliant and efficient site.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the facility.
