Job summary

Cobalt Energy Limited is seeking a Shift Team Leader to ensure safe and reliable operation of the facility. You will start, stop and monitor turbines, boilers, pumps and water treatment processes using DCS systems, while ensuring compliance with HSE rules and company policies.

You will provide technical supervision, coordinate shift staff, and drive continuous improvement of SOPs. A relevant engineering qualification or substantial time served experience is required, with a focus on safety and

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification such as HNC/NVQ in engineering; time served experience also acceptable.
• HMI, SCADA, DCS knowledge and experience are essential.
• Operational experience in power generation or steam raising with DCS/HMI familiarity.
• Experience in plant process management in control room and shop-floor environments.
• Flexible working attitude and strong team working approach are essential.
• Strong communication skills with a logical approach to problem-solving.
• Basic IT skills to undertake reporting via computerised systems.
• IOSH/NEBOSH/BOAS qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
• Practical skills including basic mechanical fitting tasks.
• Electrical AP or SAP background would be advantageous but not essential.
• Health and Safety qualification would be beneficial, training provided.
• Knowledge of team development would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Start, stop and monitor turbines, boilers, pumps, and water treatment equipment.
• Ensure the plant operates within parameters while complying with HSE rules and company policies.
• Conduct plant tours and daily checks to ensure equipment runs efficiently.
• Monitor CEMS to maintain environmental permit compliance.
• Provide supervision and support for operators on shift.
• Operate within a 365-day, 24/7 shift rota.
• Support and coordinate minor reactive maintenance on shift.
