Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Shift Mechanical Engineer for a busy healthcare site in Birmingham. The role focuses on maintaining critical mechanical and building services, including ventilation, pumps, boilers and medical gas systems.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults and ensure safe operation around the clock. You’ll work a 2-day/2-night/4-off shift pattern, be part of a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to service improvements while adhering to health

Qualifications

• Requires City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance within a healthcare/building services environment.
• Knowledge of ventilation, pumps, compressors, boilers and heating systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across mechanical building services.
• Undertake reactive maintenance, diagnostics, fault finding and repairs on complex mechanical systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and ensure accurate documentation and handovers.
• Work to health and safety standards and healthcare regulations.
