Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is recruiting for a Shift Mechanical Engineer in Matlock, Derbyshire. This permanent role involves 4 On 4 Off pattern (days and nights) within a heavy industry maintenance team, carrying out PPMs and breakdowns on diverse plant.

You’ll work closely with an electrician and join a small, dedicated maintenance function focused on reliability and fault diagnosis across crushers, conveyors, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on maintenance background in an industrial / heavy engineering environment.
• Good mechanical fault-finding skills across: Bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, rollers.
• hydraulics & pneumatics
• Welding / fabrication (advantageous)
• Machinery / Plant: Crushers, conveyors, screening equipment, furnace, moulds (ingot), wire & stripper

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs on varied industrial plant.
• Work in a small, close-knit maintenance function alongside an electrician.

SHIFT MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Salary: £52,130 (OTE £60,000+)

Location: Matlock, Derbyshire

Job Type: Permanent

Shift Pattern: 4 On 4 Off Days and Nights

BRAND NEW opportunity to join a well-established business within heavy industry / recycling. Due to continued demand and workload, the site is looking to add an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to the shift team. You’ll be working in a small, close-knit maintenance function, partnered alongside an electrician, carrying out PPM and breakdowns on varied industrial plant.
