Job summary

Five Guys in Bournemouth seeks a proactive Shift Manager to support the General Manager and lead a fast‑paced team. You will ensure every shift meets Five Guys standards and that customers leave satisfied with the experience.

You are a natural motivator, mentor the crew, and maintain high energy during busy periods while upholding food safety and hygiene practices.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of management experience in a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment.
• Strong focus on guest experience and delivering excellent service.
• Understanding of running profitable shifts and cost control basics.

Responsibilities

• Support General Manager to deliver the Five Guys standard on each shift.
• Lead, coach and direct the team to energise the service and maintain values.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and promptly address complaints.
• Manage shift flow, breaks and staffing during peak periods.
• Enforce Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards.

In every restaurant, you'll find talented Shift Managers and you will be responsible for supporting the General and Assistant Managers to ensure that every shift is run to Five Guys standards and that every customer leaves the restaurant feeling better than when they arrived. Our Shift Managers are there to demonstrate leadership, coaching and direction to the team and bringing our values to life for their team and our customers.

• Supporting the General Manager in the delivery of perfect burgers and fries while providing a "above & beyond" experience for your team and customers
• Creating an awesome working environment where people are happy to come to work and have fun while leading with our Values - Competitive, Enthusiastic, Family, Get It Done and Integrity
• Ensuring every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience - You will deal with complaints promptly in an open and honest way
• You will ensure that each shift runs as smoothly as possible and that our values form part of your shift management
  Experience: Ideally, you have at least 1 year of management experience in a similar role within a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment. You know what it takes to run a busy shift and keep the energy high
• Customer Satisfaction: You are obsessed with the guest experience and have the numbers to prove it. You have a track record of driving customer satisfaction scores, increasing engagement, and consistently delivering excellent Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews
• Financial Responsibility: You understand the basics of running a profitable shift, managing crew breaks, minimising food waste, and deploying the team effectively during the rush
• Leadership Skills: You are a natural motivator who enjoys being hands-on. You lead by example and know how to get the best out of the Crew during a busy service
• Operational Excellence: You have a good working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards and know how to enforce them on the line
• Flexibility: You are available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
