Job summary

Five Guys in the United Kingdom is seeking a Shift Manager to lead front-line teams, coach crew, and ensure every shift runs to Five Guys standards, with a focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience.

You will support the General and Assistant Managers, manage station tasks on the line and dining area, and help create a positive, energetic work environment while upholding food safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of management experience in a high-volume hospitality or QSR.
• Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction and Mystery Shopper results.
• Strong financial oversight of shifts, waste, and staffing.
• Lead by example, coach and motivate the crew.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front on the dining floor and on the line.
• Support the General Manager to deliver perfect burgers and an above-and-beyond guest experience.

AS A SHIFT MANAGER, YOU'LL BE RESPONSBILE FOR

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• Experience: Ideally, you have at least 1 year of management experience in a similar role within a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment. You know what it takes to run a busy shift and keep the energy high
• Customer Satisfaction: You are obsessed with the guest experience and have the numbers to prove it. You have a track record of driving customer satisfaction scores, increasing engagement, and consistently delivering excellent Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews
• Financial Responsibility: You understand the basics of running a profitable shift, managing crew breaks, minimising food waste, and deploying the team effectively during the rush
• Leadership Skills: You are a natural motivator who enjoys being hands-on. You lead by example and know how to get the best out of the Crew during a busy service
• Operational Excellence: You have a good working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards and know how to enforce them on the line
• Flexibility: You are available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
