Job summary

Five Guys in Thurrock, United Kingdom is seeking a Shift Manager to support the General and Assistant Managers in running shifts to Five Guys standards. You’ll lead by example on the line and dining area, coaching the team and ensuring a welcoming, high-energy service for every guest.

Your role focuses on people leadership, ensuring smooth shifts, handling customer feedback promptly, and upholding our values of Integrity, Enthusiasm and Family while delivering great burgers and fries.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of management experience in a high-volume hospitality/QSR environment.
• Focus on delivering a standout guest experience and strong team leadership.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front; work on the line and dining area.
• Support the General Manager in delivering perfect burgers and fries and a great guest experience.
• Create an engaging work environment aligned to our values.
• Ensure customers are delighted with orders and handle complaints promptly.

AS A SHIFT MANAGER, YOU’LL BE RESPONSBILE FOR

• Our people - Leading from the front and being hands-on, working on the line and on the dining area
• Supporting the General Manager in the delivery of perfect burgers and fries while providing a “above & beyond” experience for your team and customers

• Ensuring every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience - You will deal with complaints promptly in an open and honest way

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• Experience:Ideally, you have at least1 year of management experience ina similar role within a high-volume hospitalityorQSRenvironment. You know what it takes to run a busy shift and keep the energy high
• Customer Satisfaction:You are obsessed with the guest experience and have the numbers to prove it. You havea track recordof driving customer satisfaction scores, increasing engagement, and consistently delivering excellent Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews
• FinancialResponsibility:You understand the basics of running a profitable shift,managing crew breaks,minimisingfood waste, and deploying the team effectively during the rush
• LeadershipSkills:You are a natural motivator who enjoys being hands-on. You lead by example and know how to get the best out of the Crew during a busy service
• Operational Excellence:You have a good working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards and know how to enforce them on the line
• Flexibility:You are available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
