Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a Shift Manager to lead fast-paced shifts and support the General Manager in delivering our high-quality burgers and fries. You’ll coach the team, uphold food safety standards, and ensure guests enjoy a friendly and efficient experience.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of management experience in hospitality, a passion for guest service, and the energy to drive performance during busy periods.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of management experience in a high-volume hospitality role.
• Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction scores and Mystery Shopper results.
• Understanding of food hygiene and Health & Safety standards.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front, working on the line and in the dining area.
• Support the General Manager in delivering perfect burgers and fries and ensure an above-and-beyond guest experience.
• Create a positive working environment aligned with Five Guys values.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and honestly, ensuring satisfaction.
• Ensure each shift runs smoothly and aligns with company standards.

AS A SHIFT MANAGER, YOU’LL BE RESPONSBILE FOR

• Our people - Leading from the front and being hands-on, working on the line and on the dining area
• Supporting the General Manager in the delivery of perfect burgers and fries while providing a “above & beyond” experience for your team and customers

• Ensuring every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience - You will deal with complaints promptly in an open and honest way

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• Experience: Ideally, you have at least 1 year of management experience in a similar role within a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment. You know what it takes to run a busy shift and keep the energy high
• Customer Satisfaction: You are obsessed with the guest experience and have the numbers to prove it. You have a track record of driving customer satisfaction scores, increasing engagement, and consistently delivering excellent Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews
• Financial Responsibility: You understand the basics of running a profitable shift, managing crew breaks, minimising food waste, and deploying the team effectively during the rush
• Leadership Skills: You are a natural motivator who enjoys being hands-on. You lead by example and know how to get the best out of the Crew during a busy service
• Operational Excellence: You have a good working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards and know how to enforce them on the line
• Flexibility: You are available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
