Job summary

Farnell Global in Leeds (LS15) is seeking a dynamic Shift Manager to lead our distribution centre operations, including packing, shipping, receiving, inventory and order fulfilment.

You will drive process improvements, uphold health & safety standards, manage a skilled team, and report on productivity. The role offers a rotating weekly shift pattern with no weekend work and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams in a distribution, logistics, or warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, order fulfilment, and quality control.
• Experience in maintaining quality & H&S standards.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate clearly.
• Experience working with compliance standards (ISO, ESD, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing key distribution centre activities including packing, shipping, receiving, inventory and order fulfilment.
• Managing customer order shipments and resolving any fulfilment issues.
• Leading inventory control processes and ensuring documentation accuracy.
• Driving quality and efficiency, ensuring customers receive the correct item at the correct time.
• Implementing and maintaining quality assurance procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and equipment standards.
• Producing operational reports and analysing productivity metrics.
• Driving process improvements and supporting strategic initiatives.
• Leading and developing a team of experienced professionals.

This Role Operates On a Weekly Rotating Shift Pattern

• 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm

But will be required to have full flexibility and availability between 6am and 11pm.
