Job summary

SearchWorks Pty Ltd is seeking experienced shift/warehouse/operations manager roles across London, Birmingham and Nottingham. The role is hands-on, combining people leadership, operational performance, data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement within a high-volume sortation environment.

You’ll lead sortation operations, develop teams, monitor KPIs, manage workforce allocation, and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Shift Manager, Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager or Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead sortation operations during your shift, ensuring productivity, service and operational targets are achieved.
• Lead, motivate and develop operational teams, creating a high-performance culture.
• Monitor KPIs, productivity, quality and service metrics to identify and address performance issues.
• Manage workforce allocation and ensure the right people are deployed across the operation.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase productivity and service quality.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training of site operatives.
• Manage and develop underperforming employees, providing clear feedback and coaching.
• Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained and continuously improved.
• Work closely with wider stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and support the wider success of the site.
• Take ownership of operational problems and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Our client is a fast-growing logistics technology business transforming how goods move in an increasingly online world. Backed by a $35M Series A, the business combines logistics operations, technology, data and AI to build a more efficient delivery network.

They are looking for experienced Shift, Warehouse, Operations or Logistics Managers to join their growing operations team across London, Birmingham and Nottingham.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Shift Manager, Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager or Logistics Manager.
• Strong people management and team leadership experience.
• Experience working within high-volume parcel, logistics, warehouse or distribution environments.
• Comfortable working with KPIs, data and performance metrics.
• Proven experience improving operational performance and driving measurable results.
• Experience managing and developing underperformers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved operationally.
• Ideally flexible to work rotational day and night shifts.

Strong backgrounds could include Amazon, DHL, DPD, UPS, Evri, FedEx, Royal Mail, Yodel, GXO and similar high-volume logistics organizations.
