Job summary

Loom Talent is recruiting for a Warehouse Shift Operations Manager in Derbyshire on a late shift to lead a busy warehouse operation. You will own performance across safety, quality, productivity and customer service while developing the shift team.

The role requires hands-on leadership, experience in fast-paced 3PL or large-scale distribution, and a track record of driving continuous improvement and cost control on a shift-by-shift basis.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Warehouse Shift Operations Manager or similar senior leader.
• Background in a fast-paced 3PL, retail, FMCG or large-scale distribution.
• Experience leading sizeable operational teams through an established management structure.
• Demonstrable success improving warehouse KPIs, productivity and service levels.
• Strong understanding of labour planning, resource management and operational costs.
• Experience driving Continuous Improvement and operational change.
• Good knowledge of warehouse Health & Safety and operational compliance.
• Experience working within a Logistics distribution and supply chain environment.
• Visible, hands-on leadership style with the ability to engage and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading the day-to-day warehouse operation across the late shift.
• Managing, coaching and developing warehouse managers, team leaders and operational colleagues.
• Driving performance across productivity, accuracy, quality and customer service KPIs.
• Managing labour planning and resource allocation in line with changing operational volumes.
• Ensuring inbound, picking, packing and outbound activity is delivered safely and efficiently.
• Driving Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity and operational flow.
• Maintaining high standards across Health & Safety, compliance and housekeeping.
• Working closely with transport and the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operational delivery.
• Managing shift handovers and ensuring effective communication across the wider operation.
• Creating a positive, accountable and high-performing culture across the shift.

Warehouse Shift Operations Manager / Derbyshire / £50,000 - £52,000 / Late Shift (12:00 - 20:00, 13:00 - 21:00, 14:00 - 22:00)

The Role

This Warehouse Shift Operations Manager opportunity is with a well-established distribution business based in Derbyshire, taking ownership of a busy late-shift operation within a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The business is looking for a hands-on Warehouse Shift Operations Manager who can lead from the front, develop a strong operational team and drive performance across service, productivity, people and cost. You'll have responsibility for ensuring the shift consistently delivers against demanding customer and operational expectations.

Working closely with the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain function, you'll play a key role in improving operational performance, developing people and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
