Job summary

DS Smith Ely is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical or electrical bias. The role, based at Ely, offers a £53,000 annual salary and a rotating shift pattern (0600-1400 / 1400-2200) with occasional Saturdays.

You will work with engineering colleagues, operations, OEMs and vendors to improve asset reliability and run preventative maintenance to compliance standards. The position requires NVQ Level 3/BTEC, experience in both mechanical and electrical disciplines, and

Qualifications

• Fully qualified multi-skilled maintenance technician
• Experience in maintenance with both mechanical and electrical bias
• Familiar with PPM implementation and control
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices
• Root cause problem solving in fast-paced manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance activities meet quality standards and plant targets
• Control maintenance costs and follow procedures
• Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance; feed back reports
• Identify and source parts through the engineering team
• Perform dynamic risk assessments on maintenance tasks
• Manage stocks of materials and consumables
• Be familiar with stop devices and safety procedures on equipment
• Help keep factory areas at agreed standards
