Job summary

DS Smith Packaging Ely is seeking a Multi‑Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer with a Mechanical or Electrical bias to support a fast-paced site. You will work with engineering colleagues, operations, OEMs and suppliers to implement best practices and improve plant reliability.

You will perform preventative and breakdown maintenance, manage spares, and carry out risk assessments to ensure safe, compliant operations on all equipment under your charge.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified multi-skilled maintenance technician with Mechanical and Electrical training.
• Accredited to minimum of NVQ Level 3 or BTEC; 18th Edition wiring regulations.
• Experience with PPM implementation and continuous improvement practices such as 5S and Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance to meet quality standards and plant targets.
• Follow company procedures to control maintenance costs and asset reliability.
• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance; source parts via engineering team lead.
