Job summary

DS Smith Packaging Ely is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (mechanical/electrical bias) to work a 60/40 split across mornings and afternoons on a fast-paced site. You will maintain preventative schedules, drive plant reliability, and collaborate with operations, OEMs and vendors to implement best practices.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will ensure tasks meet quality standards, manage costs, and uphold safety and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified multi-skilled maintenance technician with minimum NVQ Level 3 or BTEC.
• Ideally trained in both mechanical and electrical disciplines and 18th Edition wiring regs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Identify and source parts with engineering supervision.
• Perform dynamic risk assessments on maintenance tasks.
• Control stocks of materials and consumables.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, hygiene and housekeeping standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and Lean.
