Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is seeking a Shift Maintenance Engineer for a fast-paced FMCG production facility in Coleford, Gloucestershire. The role covers electrical and mechanical maintenance on a variety of equipment, with 12-hour shifts on a 4-on/4-off rotation, days and nights, and a salary up to £50k plus benefits.

Electrically biased or mechanically oriented candidates with PLC exposure (Allen Bradley/Siemens), SAP familiarity, and a proactive problem-solving approach will fit well; the team

Qualifications

• Electrical qualifications required (NVQ, HNC, 18th Edition or equivalent).
• Strong mechanical knowledge with fault diagnosis skills.
• Ability to perform in a high-pressure FMCG production environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Diagnose faults to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Collaborate with production team on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex issues using technical knowledge.
• Ensure health and safety regulations and standards are followed.

Hours: 12 Hour Shifts, 4 on 4 off (Days/Night Rotation)

HRGO Recruitment is on the hunt for a Shift Maintenance Engineer with a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance for our client based in Coleford. Our client is part of a global firm supplying to a variety of major brands.

We are looking for individuals who are logical and real team players to ensure our client's fast paced production line goes smoothly. We are ideally looking for Electrically biased engineers with strong Mechanical skills or Mechanical biased with Electrical qualifications.

Key Responsibilities of our Shift Maintenance Engineer:

• Carrying out scheduled and reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment in an FMCG factory.
• Diagnosing and fixing faults in machinery to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Collaborating with the production team to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Applying your technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Adhering to health and safety regulations while maintaining work standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Electrical qualifications (NVQ, HNC, 18th Edition or Equivalent)
• Strong Mechanical Knowledge
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure production environment

Desirable Skills:

• Basic experience with PLC systems such as Allen Bradley or Siemens
• FMCG / Fast Moving Factory Experience
• Injection moulding or plastic experience could be beneficial
• SAP Experience
