Job summary

Equans is seeking a Shift Maintenance Electrician to join the facilities maintenance team at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance of HVAC, gas systems, Piped Medical Gas, and associated equipment across the site, with 4 on/4 off shifts from 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00.

You will supervise subcontractors, work safely, and contribute to capital projects. The ideal candidate has an electrical apprenticeship, 18th Edition, and the ability to read drawings,

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical trade apprenticeship or equivalent level 2/3 in electrical discipline.
• 18th Edition certification required.
• Strong understanding of building services installation and maintenance techniques.
• Ability to read technical drawings and diagnose faults.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems across the site.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, installations, refurbishments and capital works.
• Oversee sub-contractors and manage contractors to ensure safe working practices.
• Ensure PPM and reactive tasks meet contract timescales and safety standards.
