Job description

We’re looking for a Maintenance Electrician to assist with daily electrical maintenance tasks, both in the field and in the workshop, working in a shift pattern. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and maintaining operational efficiency. You will be part of a team responsible for electrical systems, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to high standards. Reliable, safety-conscious candidates with a solid understanding of electrical work are encouraged to apply.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

1. Following all safety procedures, systems, and policies, including permit-to-work systems and risk assessments.
2. Carrying out plant isolations and issuing permits if authorized.
3. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment after tasks are completed.
4. Performing troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on equipment such as motors, transformers, switchgear, breakers, and lighting.
5. Conducting inspections, calibrations, and data collection to detect issues early.
6. Supporting root cause analysis and contributing to corrective actions.
7. Using maintenance software to create work requests and update equipment history.
8. Coordinating repairs and inspections with other departments.
9. Ensuring smooth shift handovers and completing shift reports.
10. Participating in training and undertaking additional tasks as needed.

Minimum requirements include:

• HND or equivalent education level.
• Experience as a Time-served Electrical Technician or similar.
• Minimum of 5-6 years’ demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment with heavy machinery.
• Preferably, Electrical Regulation 17th Edition certification.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical maintenance activities, including HV, LV, motor control circuits, automation, and instrumentation.
• Understanding of safety requirements and procedures.
• Experience with maintenance methods, tools, and systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and process control drawings.
• Willingness to embrace change for continuous improvement.
